Lucky 15 Monday April 10th

Monday 6.30pm A frustrating Grand National Saturday with a fourth and two thirds and Definitly Red pulled up in the National itself because the saddle slipped!

Saturdays Lucky 15

Aintree 1.45                           NO HASSLE HOFF           4th 4/1F               (7/1 PP 6/1 general)

Just about halved in price! Fountains Windfall skipped away turning for home and No Hassle Hoff did the donkey work leading the chase and in the end did well to hold onto fourth.

Aintree 2.25                           MESSIRE DES OBEAUX           3rd 7/2         (13/2 BetFred+ PP 6/1 general)

Again just about halved in price! Beaten by an impressive Finians Oscar and Captain Forez who Skelton rode the ears off. That is probably as good as MdO is. No excuses.

Aintree 3.40                           STARCHITECT                         3rd 5/1          (7/1 WH 6/1 general)

Again we beat the market but Starchitect didn’t get the trip as the Tizzard/Power combo once again disappeared into the middle distance.

Aintree 6.15                           WAKEA                                               Fell 8/1            (8/1 general)

Never got the lead he wanted or needed. Tired fall at the second last. Only the very best carried a solid Cheltenham performance to Aintree.

No Lucky 15 for Tuesday but two horses trained by #FantasticMrFahey you may like to consider at Pontefract on Tuesday.

Pontefract 5.40

Theos Lolly                    4yo colt              (M J Macleod)              31562051381  0560-    (74 75)        OR75 74 76 74 72 70 76 75 80 79 77 75

2016 – No rest for him, already had 13 runs this season winning three of them. A C5 maiden and two C5 handicaps at 8F and 12F off OR74 & OR75. Probably needs to get back to that sort of mark in a C5 to win again. Autumn HiT Sales Oct. 24th-27th-Withdrawn

Starts 2017 off OR75, last winning mark, in a C5 0-75 8F apprentice handicap drawn 4 of 12 at Pontefract, he’s a course and distance winner, with the promising Connor Murtagh taking 7lbs off.

13/2 with Coral, BetFred and SkyBet!

Pontefract 3.10

Brian the Snail is on the same card. 3yo bought by Godolphin recently, stays with Fahey.

Brian the Snail            3yo colt              (Godolphin)              11                       (-)                            OR95

Well supported on debut from 4/1 overnight to 2/1Fav and this son of Zebedee has plenty of size about him. Over 5F at Pontefract in a C5 on Good to Firm ground he finished strongly and won well. Ran to about OR80, Good ground action. “This horse is such a gent and is so laid-back it took Tony a long time to pull him up,” said Fahey’s assistant, Robin O’Ryan. “He’s been big and backward, so we’ve been in no rush with him. He’s got a lot to learn and there’s plenty of improvement in him.”

Hacked up on second run on Soft ground C5 5F . Ran to about OR85? Hamilton kept it simple, took the shortest route and made just about all. BtS really is a solid unit with a deep chest, thick neck and a big backside! Will be interesting to see how far he goes up the 3yo sprinting ladder. Godolphin bought him in March 2017.

J A McGrath-Godolphin 218th March 2017 Brian The Snail, unbeaten in two outings last year, has been purchased by Godolphin and will remain in the stable of Richard Fahey. Fahey has high hopes for the son of Zebedee, who is set to make his seasonal debut in the Godolphin Royal Blue colours in a small six-furlong race at Pontefract on April 11. “He is a useful sprinter in the making,” the trainer predicted. “Both his wins were over five furlongs but I feel he will be all the better for the step up to six — and better ground. He has done well over the winter, and I am delighted Godolphin have bought him to stay in the stable.”

Fahey starts him off in an 0-75 C3 handicap !!

Paddy put it in at 9/4 (4.10pm) Now 6/4 tops.

Fahey seems to have his 2yo’s well forward or he he’s bought more precocious types!

Couldn’t possibly suggest any!
