Tuesday 6.00pm Of course it’s Ludlow on Thursday and although it’s Haydock and Warwick tomorrow they do look like midweek cards. Finding winners looks trappy and even harder to find one at a price and add to that the weather looks miserable with the possibility of heavy rain and even snow!
Just about finished my Cheltenham reviews and should have a few bits to post on the blog over the next 48 hours.
Wednesdays Lucky 15
Haydock 3.10 GROVE SILVER 7/2 general
Haydock 3.40 FUTURE GILDED 8/1 PP + BetFred!
Warwick 3.50 THE MODEL COUNTY 9/1 PP 7/1 general
Warwick 4.20 LADY BEAUFORT 13/2 Coral + WH 6/1 general
and hopefully this is why
Haydock 3.10 GROVE SILVER This is a tight novices handicap with just 5lbs between the five runners. Grove Silver has form at this trip and will no doubt try to make every yard but it could be a pestered lead. Haydock suits front runners and as Grove Silver has taken part in the the Lincolnshire, Surrey and Border Nationals over the winter I would expect him to outstay these. Spanish Fleet and Wolf Sword look like bridesmaids, Clan legend is up in class but for a red hot yard and the danger is probably Buttercup up 12lbs since her first win and stepping out of mares company.
Haydock 3.40 FUTURE GILDED This horse has never run over hurdles but his mark for hurdles is 5lb lower than his chasing mark!? Yard in form, go on the ground and will get the trip. Why not?
Warwick 3.50 THE MODEL COUNTY Tom Scudamore will have to go easy on the Weetabix in the morning to get down to 10st 1lb and his booking is the hint on a horse that won over course and distance two runs ago. 3m 2f on Soft ground at Warwick takes some getting even over hurdles and the selection gets from 5 to 25lbs off his rivals.
Warwick 4.20 LADY BEAUFORT Won her bumper well but taken a little time to get the hang of hurdling but her last run was her best when second to Copper Kay and she now goes handicapping in a first time tongue tie.
Tuesdays Lucky 15
If you got on last night £9.30 back, if on at SP £8 for our £15 outlay, pity the first one didn’t hold on!
Exeter 3.05 BOY IN A BENTLEY 2nd 9/1 (8/1 general)
Took it up turning for home and thought he had nicked it but the 22lb concession told in the end!
Wetherby 3.25 TAWEYLA PU 8/1 (15/2 general)
Too keen early and beaten before turning for home.
Exeter 4.00 CAPARD KING Non Runner
Wetherby 4.35 DOKTOR GLAZ 1st 5/2 (7/2 general) 10p in £ Rule 4
This horse is enormous!! Ground this out. Will surely go back chasing but will need to pick his feet up!
