Monday 6.00pm It’s back to bread and butter racing and although Tuesday is pretty basic, Wednesday at Ludlow is promising with Newbury to look forward to Friday and Saturday.
Tuesdays Lucky 15
Exeter 3.05 BOY IN A BENTLEY 8/1 general
Wetherby 3.25 TAWEYLA 15/2 general
Exeter 4.00 CAPARD KING 9/2 Coral + Ladbrokes 10/3 PP 7/2 BetFred!
Wetherby 4.35 DOKTOR GLAZ 7/2 general
and hopefully this is why
Wetherby 4.35 DOKTOR GLAZ Will he bounce on his second run back from an injury? Will be a chaser but sticks to hurdling here and this is undoubtedly the weakest race he has taken part in. Jockey Lorcan Murtagh is worth his 7lb claim and will be out to match his 16yo younger brother, Connor, who has started out with Richard Fahey and had a winner last week. Cost Rosie Dobbins Mum, Dad and a few friends £100K and time to start paying for his keep.
Wetherby 3.25 TAWEYLA Pam Sly seems to have found an ideal opportunity for her talented mare and the booking of 3lb claimer Jamie Bargary catches the eye. Taweyla has slipped back to her last winning mark and that was in a grade higher.
Exeter 3.05 BOY IN A BENTLEY This horse went in my notebook many moons ago and has showed very little but this is an abysmal race and if this son of Kayf Tara has any ability this is the time to show it. Kim Bailey and David Bass are in fine form.
Exeter 4.00 CAPARD KING Takes some courage to put up a Jonjo O’Neill horse in his current form but a few reasons for backing this one. This is the weakest race he has run in since winning his 3m novice chase at Southwell. He has come down 10lbs in the handicap and the trainer’s son rides taking another 7lbs off. I like the lad who looks a chip off the old block.
Saturdays Lucky 15
Got a run with two of them but no return.
Uttoxeter 2.25 ROCK THE KASBAH 2nd 6/1 (8/1 general)
Great run but what was American doing in a handicap?
Kempton 2.40 GOLDEN SPEAR PU 11/2F (11/2 Coral 5/1 general)
OK until turning for home when he went out like a light. BHA stewards report “Donagh Meyler, the rider of GOLDEN SPEAR, which started favourite and was pulled up, reported that the gelding had lost its action. The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding during routine testing had found GOLDEN SPEAR to be stiff behind.”
Uttoxeter 3.00 ORDO AD CHEO 7th 15/2 (7/1 general)
Weakened three out. One more chance to stay in the notebook.
Uttoxeter 3.35 WARRANTOR 3rd 16/1 (16/1 general)
Hit a couple but every chance two out and still has one of these four mile slogs in him.
